About Taylor

Taylor Electric Company was founded in 1919 by the late James A Taylor in Madison, Wisconsin. Our first product for distribution was the Willys-Light gasoline powered electric generator for farmers to use for pre-dawn and after dark farm work.

When radio station WHA in Madison went on the air in 1922, Taylor Electric Company began selling the component parts and tubes for people to build their own home radios. During this period, Taylor also actively serviced the burgeoning aircraft communications industry in the Madison area.

Taylor Electric Company moved to Milwaukee in 1937, its product offering was expanded to appliances, televisions, consumer electronics and electronic components for the OEM market. Taylor Electric Company's industrial sales division has the distinction of being National Semiconductor's first distributor.

Taylor Electric Company's mission from the beginning has been to employ the finest people, stock the best products, and give our customers the excellent service they deserve. Taylor stocks top quality components from premiere brands such as: Tyco, Omron, Phoenix Contact, National Semiconductor, Aromat, Honeywell, Airpax, and Carling Technologies.

Today, as Taylor Industrial Electronics, our mission remains the same. We pride ourselves in having the most knowledgeable, experienced and helpful people in the industry. Our service is unmatched with local inventory and the flexibility to meet any and all of your needs. We specialize in customer specific programs including VMI and SMI, and can "taylor" our procedures to meet your needs.
